YouTube Music Artist Pages Redesign
After introducing the Mark as played feature for podcast episodes and Sound Search, YouTube Music is now updating artist pages on Android and iOS. The redesign includes a play button instead of shuffle, as well as replacing the “More” button next to “Top songs” with a chevron in an app-wide change.
This text discusses the recent rollback of a redesign that featured a denser original design with paired buttons and straightforward text labels.
Redesign of Artist Page on YouTube Music
The artist page on YouTube Music has been redesigned with a left-aligned artist name, subscriber count, and a new follow button.
The layout includes options to start radio, shuffle, and play, with circular buttons for easier touch targets. The Latest Release card is prominently displayed, followed by Top songs and the feed.
This modernization aligns with the redesign of album and playlist pages in 2022, updating the previous 2019 design with Material 3 tweaks. The update is rolling out as a server-side update for YouTube Music on Android and iOS. Additionally, YouTube Music is introducing a new “Badges” feature, visible in the profile section, which seems to be linked to existing YouTube Premium perks.
