Wynk Music app to shut down by Bharti Airtel to absorb all employees
Bharti Airtel is planning to exit the music vertical and shut down its Wynk Music app, absorbing all employees from the app. Airtel is planning to shut down Wynk Music in the coming months and will integrate all its employees into the company, as confirmed by an Airtel spokesperson.
In a recent announcement, it was confirmed that Wynk Music will be discontinued, and all employees will be integrated into the Airtel ecosystem. Airtel users will now have access to Apple Music, and existing Wynk Premium users can expect special offers from Airtel for Apple services.
Airtel Partners with Apple for Exclusive Music and TV+ Offers
Airtel has collaborated with Apple to offer its customers in India exclusive access to Apple Music and Apple TV+ content. Starting later this year, Airtel Xstream customers using iPhone will receive special offers for Apple Music, while Apple TV+ content will be accessible through Airtel’s premium Wi-Fi and postpaid plans.
Apple TV+ and Airtel have partnered to offer a bundle of original content, including drama series, comedy shows, feature films, documentaries, and family entertainment, to customers in India.
This collaboration comes as viewership of large screen video content is on the rise in the country, with the service being included in premium Airtel WiFi and Postpaid plans.
Airtel is offering exclusive deals for Apple Music to Wynk Premium users, providing access to a wide range of Indian and global music, curated playlists, artist interviews, and Apple Music Radio.
