AI features and functionalities – Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Review

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 offers a range of AI features, including suggested replies on the cover display, translation and summarising PDF documents, email composition, and image sketching.

The Photos app features a new portrait studio using an AI editor to generate various portrait styles, including 3D cartoon, watercolour, sketch, and comic. Additionally, the device offers instant slow-mo, allowing users to touch and hold a video to see it in slow motion. These AI features are designed to enhance the user experience.

Design and Display – Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Review

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 has been updated with flat edges for a better in-hand experience and an enhanced hinge to reduce creases on the main display. It is IP48 rated, making it the only foldable device with dust and water resistance. The displays are slightly brighter but retain their sizes and resolutions. The cover display interface has been tweaked for more usefulness, but native app support is still lacking.

Camera – Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 Review

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 has a dual-camera setup with a 50-megapixel main sensor and 2x in-sensor zoom, providing consistent performance in all lighting conditions. Portrait photography is strong, but the 2x in-sensor zoom quality falls short in low-light conditions.

The ultra-wide-angle camera sensor is adequate but not on par with the main sensor. The 10MP in-display camera sensor, though not as impressive, does not detract from overall imaging performance, as it can be used for front-facing shots and is capable for video conferencing and calls when needed.

Performance and Battery life

The Galaxy Z Flip 6 is a top-tier smartphone with a smooth interface and a 4,000 mAh battery. It’s powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 system-on-chip and excels in performance, thermals, and power efficiency. However, charging the battery is time-consuming and a weaker aspect. The phone doesn’t come with a charging adaptor but ships with a two-sided USB Type-C cable, making it a good choice for those looking for a reliable smartphone.

Should You Buy it or Not ?

Clamshell-style foldable smartphones are inherently fun to use, and the Galaxy Z Flip 6 enhances this experience with software improvements that span communication, imaging, and productivity. These enhancements prove useful at work, during vacations, and in everyday situations. Although the Galaxy Z Flip 6 is on the expensive side, starting at Rs 109,999, it is worthy of consideration if the novel use cases enabled by its form factor fit your needs.
