Xiaomi Introduces Redmi Watch 5 Lite
The Xiaomi Redmi Watch 5 Active was unveiled in August, and the company is set to launch the Redmi Watch 5 Lite on September 25. Although labeled as “Lite,” this new model is expected to be slightly more expensive due to its upgraded features. Notably, the watch will replace the previous 2-inch IPS display with a 1.96-inch AMOLED screen and will include a GPS module, allowing users to track their running or cycling distances independently from their smartphones.
In addition to these enhancements, the Redmi Watch 5 Lite boasts an IP68 certification and is water-resistant up to 5 ATM, making it suitable for swimming activities. This level of water resistance, along with the support for swimming workouts, is a significant advantage in this price segment, positioning the watch as a versatile option for fitness enthusiasts.
Redmi Watch 5 Lite Smartwatch Features and Specifications
The Watch 5 Lite offers users the convenience of making calls directly from the smartwatch, provided the paired smartphone is within Bluetooth range. It is equipped with integrated speakers and microphones, allowing for hands-free communication. Additionally, users can utilize Amazon Alexa for various tasks such as controlling smart home devices, setting timers, and managing calendar entries. The smartwatch is designed to work seamlessly with Xiaomi smartphones, thanks to the Xiaomi HyperOS.
In terms of battery life, the MI Watch 5 Lite is expected to match the 18 days of normal use seen in the MI Watch 5 Active. The design remains largely unchanged, featuring a glossy case finish instead of a matte one, and it includes a single button on the right side. However, the launch price for the smartwatch has yet to be revealed.
