Redmi K80 Series to Launch Soon with Flagship Features and Upgrades
Xiaomi is gearing up to launch its much-anticipated Redmi K80 series, which is expected to bring significant upgrades and flagship features. As the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset is about to be unveiled, rumors surrounding the Redmi K80 series are gaining momentum.
Snapdragon 8 Elite Unveiling
Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Summit is scheduled for October 21, where the new Snapdragon 8 Elite will be announced. This chipset is anticipated to power several upcoming flagship devices, including the Redmi K80 series. However, recent leaks suggest that not all models in the series will feature this latest chipset.
Standard Model and Features
The standard model of the Redmi K80 series is rumored to come with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset instead of the Snapdragon 8 Elite. While this may seem like a downgrade, the phone will still pack impressive features. According to leaks from Digital Chat Station, one standout feature of the standard Redmi K80 series model will be an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner, marking a major improvement over the optical scanners used in the K70 lineup.
Pro and Ultra Variants
The Redmi K80 Pro is expected to be the model that features the Snapdragon 8 Elite, offering top-tier performance. Additionally, the Redmi K80 Ultra may come equipped with MediaTek’s Dimensity 9400+, adding more diversity to the series’ lineup.
Competitive Positioning
Xiaomi’s general manager, Wang Teng, hinted that the K80 series will be more competitively positioned in the market compared to its predecessor. However, rumors suggest a potential price hike, especially for the Pro variant.
