Qualcomm predicts that Snapdragon X series PCs will see a price reduction of Rs 30,000 by 2025
Snapdragon X series // Qualcomm chip-powered PCs, also referred to as Copilot+ PCs, are currently leading the market for Windows laptops, offering cutting-edge generative AI capabilities, impressive performance, and long-lasting battery life. These high-performance devices come at a premium, starting at $1,000 or approximately Rs 90,000. Qualcomm has announced a price reduction for Snapdragon X-powered PCs to $700 or around Rs 60,000 early next year, marking a decrease of Rs 30,000. During Qualcomm’s recent Q3 2024 earnings call, CEO Cristiano Amon mentioned, “Looking ahead to 2025, our X series product roadmap will expand to include PCs priced as low as $700, while maintaining strong NPU performance.“

Qualcomm, known for its advancements in the PC market, is also a prominent player in the smartphone chip industry, experiencing a 12% year-on-year sales growth. Amon forecasts that by 2027, half of PCs will be AI-powered, with Qualcomm positioned as a key silicon provider for such devices. Many flagship Android smartphones, like the Galaxy Z Fold6, feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chips.
During the Snapdragon For India event in New Delhi, Qualcomm announced that they will unveil new Snapdragon X series chips at the upcoming Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin (IFA) annual industrial exhibition. These chips are projected to drive upcoming AI PCs, which are predicted to be more cost-effective compared to existing options. Additionally, Qualcomm introduced the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 at the event, a chip tailored for budget 5G smartphones priced under $99 or Rs 9,999 in India.
