M4 MacBooks New Editions Launching // Apple’s Focus Shift to Mac Lineup
Following the iPhone 16 launch, Apple is now turning its attention towards the Mac lineup, with an anticipated event in October.
The recent September event highlighted the company’s ecosystem growth and AI advancements under “Apple Intelligence,” but lacked significant Mac and iPad updates.
Apple’s Latest Product Lineup // Upcoming M4-Powered Macs
Industry expert Mark Gurman predicts that the October event will introduce a new range of Macs powered by the M4 chip, promising enhanced performance compared to the current M3 generation. The lineup is expected to include various models such as a low-end 14-inch MacBook Pro, high-end 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros with multiple M4 chip options, a new iMac, and a revamped Mac mini in M4 and M4 Pro versions.
Apple has introduced a range of new products featuring the M4 chip. These include the J604, a low-end 14-inch MacBook Pro, as well as the J614 and J616, high-end 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros with two pro-level M4 chip options each. Additionally, the J623 model offers a new iMac powered by the M4 chip. Lastly, Apple has revamped the Mac mini, offering smaller versions with M4 and M4 Pro chip variations.
Readiness for Launch // Apple’s Future Mac Releases
Gurman reveals that most of these new Mac models are already being shipped from factories, with the exception of some higher-end MacBook Pros and the Mac mini with the M4 Pro chip. These devices are reportedly prepared for launch, indicating an imminent release of the updated Mac lineup.
Gurman predicts that Apple is strategically timing the release of its new Mac models, aiming to have them all available simultaneously.
The M4 MacBook Air models (J713 and J715) are anticipated to launch in the first quarter of 2025, followed by the new Mac Studio (J575) around mid-year. Additionally, a Mac Pro (J704) is expected to debut before the end of 2025.
Fanless MacBook Air Delay – The delay in the release of the M4 MacBook Air may disappoint some users who appreciate its fanless design.
This feature has been a popular choice among consumers, and the absence of an imminent update might leave fans waiting longer than expected.
Apple’s Silicon Chip Advancements – Apple’s transition to using its own silicon chips has significantly enhanced the performance of its computers.
Previously criticized for offering subpar specifications at high prices, Apple’s computers are now strong contenders in the market. The incorporation of AI technology in the new desktop models underscores Apple’s dedication to progress in this field.
