Apple Launches iPhone 16 Lineup with iOS 18

Apple unveiled its latest iPhone 16 lineup, consisting of the base model iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and the top-end iPhone 16 Pro Max at the ‘It’s Glowtime’ event on September 9. These new phones will be available for purchase starting September 20. Users with older supported iPhone models will have early access to iOS 18 before the new iPhone 16 owners, as Apple will roll out the update on supported devices on Monday.

iOS 18 Offers Customization and Apple Intelligence Features

The new iOS 18 update brings a plethora of customization options, allowing users to change icon tints, rearrange apps on the homescreen, customize widgets, and more. Notably, the headline feature of iOS 18, Apple Intelligence, which utilizes generative artificial intelligence and includes an enhanced Siri, will be introduced in a subsequent update. While Apple Intelligence features will be available on all iPhone 16 models, they will only be supported on iPhone 15 Pro models for older devices.

iOS 18 Rollout Time

iOS 18 is set to be released globally on September 16, as confirmed by Apple. The specific time for the rollout has not been announced, but historically, major iOS updates have been released at 10am PT (10:30pm IST) on the first day.

Updating: When the iOS 18 update is released, you can easily download and install it by navigating to Settings, then General, and finally selecting Software Update.

iOS 18 Features

The upcoming iOS update will introduce Apple Intelligence features at a later date, but will initially offer various upgrades. Users will have more control over customizing their home screens, enabling them to rearrange apps and widgets according to their preferences.

The latest iOS update introduces a new darker look for app icons and widgets, allowing users to customize with various colors or match them to their wallpaper.

Users can now resize apps and widgets, as well as lock or hide sensitive apps on the screen. The Control Centre has been revamped with more controls accessible with a single swipe, offering options to resize and rearrange the layout.

Enhancements in Apps

Apple has redesigned the Photos app for better categorization, making it easier to find photos and videos quickly. The Messages app now includes features to add animated effects to messages, including emojis. iOS 18 also supports RCS messaging and enables users to schedule messages for later delivery.
