Huawei’s Upcoming Smartphone Launches
Huawei recently introduced the Mate XT, marking it as the first tri-foldable phone in the world. Following this launch, there are plans for the company to announce the Nova 13 series of smartphones in October. This information comes from a leak by tipster Digital Chat Station, who has also hinted at the potential release of the Mate 70 series of flagship phones and the Mate X6 foldable smartphone in November.
In addition to the launch timelines, the tipster has shared insights regarding design changes anticipated for the Mate 70 series, which has generated excitement among tech enthusiasts. The details were disclosed in a recent post on Weibo, indicating that Huawei is actively working on innovations to enhance its smartphone offerings in the coming months.
Leaked Details on the Huawei Mate 70 Series
The recent leak regarding the Mate 70 series, although not disclosing the manufacturer, hints at significant features of the upcoming devices. The engineering prototype reportedly includes a centered 3D facial recognition system on a quad-curved screen. Both the Mate 70 and Mate 70 Pro are expected to have a large standard size, a metal flat-edge frame, and a fingerprint sensor integrated into the power button, which contradicts earlier reports suggesting an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor.
The design of the Mate 70 series appears to shift from the previous Mate 60 series, which featured a unique combination of metal and glass on the back. The new leak indicates that the Mate 70 may adopt an all-glass back panel with a centered elliptical camera island housing a single periscope lens. This change in materials and design reflects a potential evolution in Huawei’s approach to aesthetics and functionality in their flagship devices.
Additionally, the leak suggests that the Mate 70 lineup will be powered by a new processor that promises improved energy efficiency, potentially reducing the need for extensive heat dissipation materials. Richard Yu, a senior executive at Huawei, has indicated that the Mate 70 series will launch with the Harmony NEXT operating system in the fourth quarter, which is expected to enhance device performance significantly, including a 30% increase in overall performance and a 20% reduction in power consumption.
