Basic Rules of Poker

Number of Players: 2-10 players can play poker.

Deck: A standard deck of 52 cards is used, without jokers.

Objective: Win the pot by making the best hand or by being the last player remaining.

Hand Rankings:

Royal Flush: Ace, King, Queen, Jack, and 10, all of the same suit.

Straight Flush: Five cards in a row, all of the same suit.

Four of a Kind: Four cards of the same rank.

Full House: Three cards of one rank and two cards of another rank.

Flush: Five cards of the same suit.

Straight: Five cards in a row, but not all of the same suit.

Three of a Kind: Three cards of the same rank.

Two Pair: Two cards of one rank and two cards of another rank.

One Pair: Two cards of the same rank.

High Card: The highest card in your hand, if you don’t have any of the above hands.

Betting: Players take turns placing bets, with the option to call, raise, or fold.

Showdown: If two or more players remain after the final betting round, they enter a showdown, where the player with the best hand wins the pot.

Texas Hold’em: The most popular variant, where players share community cards.

Omaha: Similar to Texas Hold’em, but players must use two of their hole cards.

Seven-Card Stud: Players receive seven cards, three private and four community cards.

Five-Card Draw: Players receive five private cards and can discard and replace any number of them.

Tips for Beginners
