Honor Magic V3: Unveils Thinnest Foldable Yet
Honor, known for developing ultra-thin foldable devices, introduced the Magic V3, which is even thinner than its predecessor, the Magic V2.
The Magic V3, with a thickness of just 9.9mm, surpasses other foldables like the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and OnePlus Open in terms of slimness. Initially launched in China, the Magic V3 is now being globally released, expanding its availability to more markets.
Magic V3 Display and Design
The Magic V3 features a thin design but boasts a large phone display.
It includes a 6.43-inch OLED LTPO external cover screen with a resolution of 2376 x 1060 and up to 120Hz. Upon opening, users are greeted with a 7.92-inch OLED panel with a resolution of 2344 x 2156 and the same refresh rate.
Super Steel Hinge and Internal Display
A notable upgrade in the Magic V3 is the “Super Steel Hinge,” enabling a thinner phone design without compromising user experience.
The internal display is enhanced with non-newtonian fluid coatings and nanoscale anti-wear coatings, ensuring durability and longevity.
Magic V3 Features
The Magic V3 is powered by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and 12GB of RAM, enabling the inclusion of Honor’s AI features like AI Eraser and Notes Live Translation, similar to what Galaxy users experience on the Z Fold 6.
Google Cloud collaborated with Honor on this project, providing a proficiency boost.
The device operates on Honor’s customized Android 14 version, MagicOS 8.0.1, and is equipped with a 5,150mAh battery featuring a specialized E1 chipset for enhanced power efficiency.
The Honor Magic V3 features a triple camera system with a 50MP main sensor, 50MP periscope telephoto lens, and a 40MP ultrawide unit. The device will be available in Black, Green, and Reddish Brown globally, with a price of €1,999 in the UK. Unfortunately, the Magic V3 is not expected to be released in the US.
