Apple is set to unveil its iPhone 16 series at California Park around the same time as last year, with a tentative launch date of September 10. Apple has been hesitant about the release date.

iPhone 16 Design

Apple is set to make several changes to the iPhone 16 design, including a shift to a vertical camera layout, replacing the mute button with the Action Button, and possibly adding a new ‘Capture’ button for video recording.

The new layout is expected to help iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus capture spatial video. Analyst Ming Chi Kuo predicts that the standard iPhone 16 will come in five colors: black, green, pink, blue, and white, ending support for the blue and yellow color variants of the standard iPhone. These changes are expected to improve the device’s overall functionality.

iPhone 16 Processor

Apple is expected to use the same A18 chipset in all iPhone 16 models, allowing them to perform AI tasks. However, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus processors may differ by GPU performance. Additionally, the iPhone 16 series is expected to have an 8GB RAM upgrade from its predecessor’s 6GB.

iPhone 16 display and price

Apple is set to maintain its 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch OLED displays with a 60Hz refresh rate for the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, with the standard variants expected to retain their $800 price tag.

However, a report from Macrumors suggests that Apple may be using micro-lens technology to enhance brightness and reduce power consumption, and using Border Reduction Structure (BRS) to reduce bezels.
